The balance between speed and heat
It all comes down to how those photons hit your product. When you’re picking a replacement, the wattage and voltage aren’t just numbers on a spec sheet. They’re what dictate how fast your conveyor can run. Sure, more power means you can crank up the speed. But there’s a catch. If you push the wattage too hard without checking your cooling fans or heat sinks, you’re asking for trouble. You’ll end up with warped materials or lamps that burn out way too soon. We help you find that sweet spot where you get the speed you need without melting your substrate.
Getting the wavelength right
Not every lamp does the same job. Depending on whether you’re working with PET, acrylic, or some weird specialized ink, the wavelength is everything. Shortwave UV digs deep into thick coatings. Longwave is great for the surface. If the lamp doesn’t match the chemistry of your ink, you get “surface cure.” It’s frustrating. The top looks bone-dry, but the second you touch it, you realize the bottom is still tacky. We look at your ink first so you don’t waste time on a lamp that can’t actually do the job.
The stuff people forget
A new lamp should just fit. Simple, right? But we also look at the “invisible” stuff—the stability of the ballast and the state of your housing. Here is the thing: your reflectors can get pitted or oxidized over time. If they’re dirty or worn out, a brand-new, expensive lamp is still going to underperform. Why?
